Dr. Martin grew up on a family farm in the Santa Cruz Mountains. His passion is to help individuals who are struggling to overcome challenges, find the meaning and wisdom underneath their suffering, and realize their full potential in life. He is at times a guide, helping people discover their medicine and walking with them on their path to healing. Dr. Martin spent time volunteering in the US Peace Corps to bring an HIV/AIDS awareness program to Zimbabwe, traveling the world and spending time in spiritual centers to explore different forms of contemplative practice, and became inspired to study medicine during a silent 10-day meditation retreat.
Dr. Martin earned his Psychiatry Residency at the University of Hawaii and is a Board Certified General and Adult Psychiatrist. He completed a year-long certificate training in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy from the Institute for Integrative Psychiatry and his specialties include Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Traditional Osteopathy. He incorporates a bio/psycho/social/spiritual approach to psychiatry, incorporating somatic therapies, nutritional and neutraceutical recommendations, and mind/body practices.
Dr. Martin has seen firsthand the profound effects of psychedelic therapy, including Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, as a powerful tool to further address the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of one’s healing journey. He is passionate about sharing this medicine and his unique skillsets with our Hawaii community. When he is not in clinic, he can be found reading, dancing, or seeking adventure in wild places.
