Trauma Healer

Leolani Ah Quin , MSW, LCSW

C.S. Lewis once said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

I guide individuals to create their best lives. I provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment where individuals can explore life’s challenges. I believe in the power of the therapeutic partnership to help uncover the strengths and resources we all possess in order to bring about the changes we desire in our lives. I believe that change is possible and waiting for us if we are willing to work for it!

I am a Doctor of Behavioral Health and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience. I use an eclectic mix of trauma based practices, including EMDR, a modality that helps clients to release the trauma that is stored in their bodies. I also weave in cognitive behavioral techniques, and solution focused therapy to assist patients with chronic health conditions, depression, anxiety, and other issues that prevent patients from living their BEST life.

I also work with children. I meet the children where they are developmentally, incorporating play therapy, story telling and drawing. I see the importance of working to heal trauma with our keiki, and can weave EMDR with creative techniques in order to help each child heal as they “play”.

I believe in using humor, spirituality, relaxation training, and mindfulness techniques to help each individual to reach their goals goals.  I look forward to working with you!

Areas of Specialty

I offer Individual, Couples and Family Therapy.  I serve youth 8 years and older.  I am able to meet our youth where they are developmentally, through the creative use of EMDR, music, poetry, story telling and art to encourage trauma healing through self expression and “play”.
