Aloha! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who loves helping people rediscover their strength, creativity, and potential. Life is challenging for all of us and it is easy to feel stuck. I am a guide, an ally, and a cheerleader as I walk alongside you, handing you the tools you need as you complete this journey towards your goals. My approach is holistic, focusing on understanding the science behind the brain, connecting to our physical symptoms in our body, and incorporating spiritual wellness and practical coping skills.
I love working with children (3+), teens, and their parents. I incorporate art, music, movement, and play therapy modalities whenever possible. I also love supporting new parents as they embark on the journey of parenthood, including prenatal, postpartum, and adoption care.
I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where trust, empathy, warmth, acceptance, and non-judgement are prioritized. My approach promotes open communication, authenticity, and self-reflection as you rediscover your inner resilience and resources. I will meet you in that space, also bringing my own open communication, authenticity, and collaboration.
My areas of specialty include grief and loss, and I previously worked with children, adults, couples, and families dealing with the death of a loved one and other forms of loss. I have worked with clients in both rural and inner city settings, and have had the privilege to serve clients from many different cultural and religious backgrounds. I strive to utilize a cultural humility lens and seek to listen, observe, and learn from my clients to ensure I approach my work with respect and cultural relevance. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and trauma informed care. When working with families, I also incorporate Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Structural Family Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. Each client or family has individualized needs and we will collaborate to create a personalized treatment approach that best helps you achieve progress.
Outside of the therapy room, I am busy raising 3 teenagers with my partner and am an emotional support human to our very anxious but spoiled toy poodle. My favorite form of personal therapy is dance. In addition to trying new dance styles and dancing for fun with friends, I have performed and choreographed professionally in contemporary dance and recently started training and performing in latin ballroom.
It would be an honor to help you or your family reclaim and rewrite your story.
