EMDR

Tyne Amos , MSW, LCSW

Aloha! I am Tyne, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I would feel honored to support you in your healing. I approach the therapy process with curiosity and respect. As a team, we will take some time in therapy; time to slow down, understand and get to know the parts of you and your life that are needing attention, support, love and guidance. We will look at how things interact and impact you. We will help you to release your pain and trauma. I will honor and support your journey, and help you to untangle the threads that weave into the greater tapestry of your life. Additionally, we will work together to find solutions that are practical and goal oriented.

I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with trauma, stress, depression, anxiety and career concerns. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including EMDR, DBT, and CBT to help clients work through life’s challenges and to process trauma in a safe and effective way. Depending on each client’s needs,  I may also incorporate somatic work that focuses on how your body has been impacted by trauma or stress, or a psychodynamic approach to understand how your childhood or internal conflicts may have lingering threads that impact who you are today. Through these powerful therapy modalities, my goal is for you to release your trauma and learn the skills that help you to live a life of balance and connection.

I have worked in a variety of settings as a social worker and therapist. I spent significant time working at the Department of Veteran Affairs with military veterans in the acute care, primary care, and outpatient therapy settings. I have also spent some time as a therapist in private practice. I have worked as the primary medical social worker in a rural hospital on the Big Island and as a crisis therapist in Southeast Alaska. I bring my expertise and wisdom from past experiences to my current work as a therapist.

I would love to help you to feel free and authentic in your life, to ground in your values and live to your fullest. I would love to support you.
