Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy is a collaborative and empowering approach that helps individuals explore the stories they tell about themselves, their experiences, and their lives. Often, the way we interpret past events or challenges can shape how we see ourselves today. Narrative Therapy invites you to step back, examine those stories with compassion, and consider new, more empowering meanings.

In this approach, you are viewed as separate from the problem. Instead of defining yourself by struggles, trauma, or symptoms, we explore how those challenges developed, what they have been asking of you, and how they have influenced your life story. Together, we identify strengths, values, resources, and moments of resilience that may have been overshadowed.

The goal is not to rewrite the past, but to broaden your perspective and create space for new possibilities—helping you move toward a life that feels more aligned, meaningful, and true to who you are. Narrative Therapy is gentle, respectful, culturally sensitive, and deeply affirming. It is especially helpful for individuals working through trauma, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, relationship patterns, and life transitions.

At the Center for Healing & Transformation, our therapists use Narrative Therapy to support you in reclaiming your voice, reconnecting with your strengths, and authoring a future grounded in clarity, purpose, and empowerment.
